About Civic Review

Civic Review is an Ogden-based SaaS startup that provides software for governments to help them manage their permitting and licensing process. We’re working to nail down product-market fit with our software so it’s an exciting time as we work together to strategize the best way to acquire new customers. Our office is located downtown in the “Startup Ogden” building, where we share space with other startups. This includes a very friendly work dynamic with a lot of interesting conversations and opportunities for feedback – plus an occasional game of PIG, ping-pong, or pool. Not-to-mention free lunch every Wednesday.

About the Job

We’re looking for somebody who can help accelerate the growth for one of Ogden’s very own tech startups. Since Civic Review is small, you should expect to wear a few different hats, the primary being that of the Sales Development Representative (SDR) – whose responsibilities are to lead outbound prospecting efforts to find and nurture potential customers who are primed to receive a product demo. Other secondary responsibilities will include tasks related to new customer onboarding, training, and support. This is a part-time, 20 hrs per week position with a flexible schedule within regular business hours. Must work in our office in Ogden, UT. Compensation depends on experience and includes performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Find new potential customers through the use of phone calls and emails made to cities and counties across the nation
  • Qualify leads and schedule meetings for the founder to conduct product demonstrations
  • Help develop a strategy for nurturing leads over a long period of time, including the development of email content and follow-up strategies
  • Experiment with different sales methodologies to identify the most effective way of finding new customers
  • Help teach and train new customers on use of our software
  • Answer questions from current customers related to our software
  • Help identify opportunities for product improvement based on user feedback

Qualifications

  • Outgoing and comfortable talking with people over the phone
  • Grit: You know how to push through rejections and push yourself out of your comfort zone
  • Has the ability to show personality and connect with customers via phone and email
  • Experience with Google Docs including documents and spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English
  • You can take the initiative to make suggestions and experiment with different ways to improve your own primary metric of finding more qualified leads
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Availability to work during regular business hours
  • Ability to learn our software – you will become an expert on all features our software has to offer
  • Must have completed some college coursework
  • You must demonstrate an ability to work well with others and maintain a level of professionalism and politeness as conducted by the government sector
